Imagination has no boundaries! Imagination and science drove us to explore the outer-space and ask ourselves the question: Are we alone in this Universe? We know for sure that sci-fi fans are keeping their fingers crossed now. Since we’re not scientists, nor astronauts, we can at least show you some futuristic, sci-fi fonts that we know you’ll like!

Alien League

First things first. Aliens! The Alien League font is a contemporary sans serif design and contains more humanist characteristics than many of its predecessors. It looks minimalistic and in sync with last decades of the twentieth century. This font will work perfectly for creating futuristic space age designs, posters and various branding projects.

Blade Runner Movie Font

Let’s move on to another futuristic, sci-fi movie inspired script, very similar to the official Blade Runner Movie Font, designed by Phil Steinschneider. We believe the white line throughout the fonts gives it a unique texture and makes it look very fancy. Remember that if you want to attract Replicants, you can use this font on a poster and they will reveal themselves to you.

Death Star Regular Font

In a distant galaxy far, far away the numerous fans of this epic series had very few options when trying to find a font for their projects. Patience they had and thank later they did! The font was designed by Sharkshock and it features all caps and a classic 80’s style. The geometric, rounded curves and limited strokes, as well as the width variation bring the retro feel that will fit perfectly into your logos, T-shirts or your Star Wars inspired blog.

Galaxy 1 font

Another fonts that look out of this space that we found is the Galaxy 1 font. With its sci-fi and funky design, it is the perfect choice for pretty much anything, if you want to catch some extra attention. The Galaxy 1 font makes us remember of Dave Bowman’s final words as he entered the monolith in the book 2001: A SpaceOdyssey. The design brings back a piece of the galaxy, along with many, many shining stars.

 Prometheus font

The Prometheus font makes us think of a cryptic signal received from a abandoned alien spacecraft. It is inspired by the prequel series Prometheus and its design looks very sci-fi, as if created by an advanced civilization. We know for sure that it’s not a weapon which could drive the human race extinct. Instead, it will make a lot of creative humans happy.

System Glitch otf

System Glitch otf font is a detailed style font designed to work at large type sizes in titles and headlines. It can be used to create glitchy sci-fi art, distorted VHS effect and simulate digital interference text effect. It would be right for a lot of logos, in the gaming industry and even on clothing items. Hope you like it as much as we do!

In conclusion, we hope you liked our selection of sci-fi fonts and that you will go binge on science-fiction movies. We know that many of you have secretly been wishing to be astronauts when little! If you want to check more sci-fi fonts, go on Whatfontis.com. With over 550,000 available fonts, you’ll definitely find what you are looking for.

Who knew that the font industry has so much freedom that there is barely any naming convention? Some script designers seem to enjoy picking funny names for their fonts, as a reflection of their playful personality. We came across some funny, interesting font name choices, that seem to be in perfect accord with their typewriting pattern.

NONAME Font

We found a font that HAS NONAME. We are guessing that the designer couldn’t decide between several options, therefore he/she gave up. Or maybe the Faceless Men of Braavos sent Arya over to the designer’s house. On a more serious note, this typewriting looks very urban and gives a graffiti, artsy feel to it. It would make a good script style for video games, music posters and would make a Skateboard fan really happy.

Too much too drink font

Yes, we know you think we added an extra o in there… However, we are pretty sure we didn’t make a spelling error. This supper funny font contains an extra letter in its name, and it seems to have been left there intentionally. We believe the font designer wanted to match the font name with its look, and picked this unstable lettering style. Diverting choice! This font would be very suitable for a party invitation message.

Too much coffee and Donuts font

We have a hunch that the designer of this script was an undercover police officer. After the previous font style, we thought that the too much coffee and donuts was the perfect next choice. Who has too much coffee and donuts anyway? We know for sure that on busy days with low energy, this sugary mix can boost up any creativity level. The personal style of this typewriting is a direct reflection of its name and could make any coffee lover happy, if you would print it on a personal item.

KG Life Is Messy font

KG Life is Messy Font was designed by Kimberly Geswein in 2016 and it is actually a handwritten font. It’s a messy, markered, painted font in pure fanciful and messy style. Use it where you want to achieve a not so clean style. Feel free to be creative.

Clean up your mess font

Even if life can be messy at times we still need to clean up our mess. The style of this font is very clean and simple as the name would suggest. We trust it would make the perfect choice for any poster/invitation since it appears as if it was written by hand and looks more personal.

Funny Bone JF font

Funny Bone will fix your ulnar nerve from so much work with its healing exuberance! This style makes use of size variations and a modulated baseline to wield its charm. It looks like a digital reinterpretation of the typositor machine. Perfect for any light hearted design or for anyone who’s still a kid at heart.

We hope that we got you inspired with the selection that we carefully prepared for you. If you want to find more fonts, either for personal or professional use, check out WhatFontIs.com. Amongst the over 550,000 available fonts, you’ll definitely find what you are looking for.

True Hipster Fonts https://www.whatfontis.com/blog/true-hipster-fonts/ Fri, 19 Apr 2019 09:00:54 +0000 https://www.whatfontis.com/blog/?p=72898 The hipster subculture is inspiring to all industries, including for us. Hence, we came up with the idea of making a hipster investigation for trendy fonts.

#AuthenticHipsters may exist

After hearing that a new category of hipsters has risen, we had to see it to believe it. So after research, we simply couldn’t keep ourselves away from believing that they may actually be the Authentic hipsters. Enough with keeping the secret, here it goes, the true hipsters are those that suffered a hip replacement intervention.

As unserious as it may sound, there are actually many funny gifts around this topic and we simply wanted to express our appreciation towards the the fact that even during hard times, people still seem to have a good sense of humor.

So what is a Hipster?

While everybody seems to have the desire of knowing what a hipster is and does, as well as where we can find one, we believe no definition is good enough to answer to the standard questions. To sum up all the theories, we can say that hipsters are individuals that want to know and do new things and are searching to be inspiring all the time.

Short to say that all the industries are targeting this so-called subculture, so we don’t want to disappoint neither. Of course that after all this hipster investigation, we actually came up with the idea of showing you some cool hipster fonts.

The Besom 2 ttf (400) font

This font is available only in big letters and we picked it for its drawn like lettering look. Maybe you have already seen it in various prints, since it works great on handbags made of Organic Cotton, and would look majestic on the front cover of a personal agenda – in which a hipster might write about a new coffee recipe.

Slabbo ttf (400) font

Moving on to another cool font. Slabbo ttf (400) font is very versatile and most definitely very hipster-leaning. It’s a bold and a bit messy, which makes it a perfect match for edgy colored backgrounds. We saw an orange poster with this script on and fell in love with it. Orange is the new black, maybe? Feel free to play with it on any medium you want and do try to make it pop with a touch of bold colors.

Sullivan Regular Font

This is NOT a traditional typeface. We believe that Sullivan is a bold display and we are happy to mention that it comes in more variations. You can find all of them here, or other similar fonts. We picked the Regular variation since it gives a modern feel, very industrial.

Aaminah Regular otf.

Since hipsters are in love with handwriting patterns, we came across this lovely font that has a personal charm to it. Aaminah is perfect for card design, product packaging and why not, for a simple usage as a stylish text overlay to any type of background.

Trend Rough Ornaments font

Our Hipster fonts search would be incomplete if we wouldn’t share this trendy script. It has a lovely, aesthetic look that brings a fashion feel while integrating a lot of elements of the current trend. We could see it on a baby shower invitation, or on a hipster wedding card. Actually, it can be used on anything, without the need of adding extra components. Feel free to be creative.

If you want to integrate our hipster fonts, we invite you to consult our website Whatfontis.com and make a list of your own. You can even upload images and the tool will identify the font for you! Pretty smart, right?

When it comes to a more personal, human touch of talking about fonts, our thoughts fly right away to script lettering. Inspired by our handwriting, script first appeared as a font in the eighteenth century. But how did it become so popular and how can we use it? With no further ado, let’s find out its story!

Formal, casual and calligraphic

Script lettering can be broken into three categories: formal, casual and calligraphic.

Firstly, formal scripts are those really fine written fonts, inspired from the seventeenth and eighteenth century letterforms. Back in the days, people used to write with pens equipped with metal nibs. Due to this kind of nibs, letters came out with modulated strokes and forward-leaning stress, depending on the pressure the writer applied to that nib. They look great on wedding invitations, menus or graduation diplomas. One great example is Virtuosa Classic. Check it out down below.

Secondly, casual script is a more natural, relaxed kind of writing. Just think about your local coffee shop’s handwritten menu. This style appeared in the twentieth century and advertisers made it popular by using it in lots of popular pulp magazines. Check out down below the ITC Weber Hand font to really get a hang of the casual type.

Last, but not least, calligraphic script can easily pass as a combination between formal and casual. To put it another way, if one particular script is too difficult to categorise, then you can easily consider it a calligraphic one. It looks good on formal items such as invitations. A good example that can help you picture calligraphic scripts easier is Suomi Hand Script.
